Hosting and delivery (Cloudflare)

This website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit a page, Cloudflare processes the technical data your browser sends with every request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser and operating system, and the referring page. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it against attacks and misuse.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as my processor under a data processing agreement. Data may be processed in the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Cloudflare keeps log data only for a short period. Details: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Contacting me by email

If you email me, I process your email address and whatever you write, only to reply to you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps prior to a contract if you contact me about a role (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). I delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless I have to keep it by law.

The “Copy address” button only copies my email address to your clipboard on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

YouTube videos

Some case studies include videos hosted on YouTube, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Before you click play, the page shows only a still image stored on this website, and no connection to YouTube is made.

When you click play, the video loads from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that moment Google receives data such as your IP address and the page you are on, and may store information on your device. Google may also transfer data to the USA; Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis is your consent, given by clicking play (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG). You can avoid this by not playing the videos. To stop a video that is playing, reload the page. Details: policies.google.com/privacy.

Links to other websites

This site links to other websites, such as Spryker’s documentation and release notes. Following a link takes you to that website, and its own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, and to have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You also have the right to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To use any of these rights, email me.

In practice, the only personal data I keep is email correspondence. If you ask, I will tell you what I have and delete it. For the other processing described above:

  • Cloudflare request logs cannot be linked to you as a person and are deleted automatically after a short time, so I cannot find or delete individual entries (Art. 11 GDPR).
  • YouTube data is collected by Google under its own responsibility after you click play. Please send requests about it to Google.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

Changes

I update this policy when the website changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
